With the departure of Ozzie Guillen, the White Sox have entered a new era of their history. It will bring new beginnings and a fresh start to the franchise. Ozzie left his mark in Chicago and we all loved him while he was here but change is always imminent.
It was really time for him to go. The team was getting distracted by the “Kenny, Ozzie saga.” Even Paul Konerko said himself that it costed the White Sox games. It’s hard to focus on you next AB when your manager does not even know if he will manage his team for at least next year.
Some say it was Kenny’s fault that the White Sox managerial legend left because he didn’t get his big contract that he wanted but I disagree. I don’t think that Kenny ever really had the best relationship that a manager and GM should have when working together. But now is the time to forget all of the drama and just focus on this year. I think Robin Ventura, the White Sox, new manager will be very successful in his career.
He has a professional personality unlike Guillen, and it seems like he is a little more focused than Ozzie. We all know how good of a ball player he was. Being and infielder he will help Morel’s development and probably even Beckham’s as well. Overall I’m very happy with the move that Kenny Williams made in signing Robin Ventura. He is not experienced but there is always a start for everything.
Robin Ventura will bring new, needed, and wanted life to the ball club. He is just the finishing touch that the Sox need. There will be challenges nut there always is and I’m confident that robin can conquer them.
