The White Sox are currently 27-22, 5 games over .500 and need to make a move.
If I’m Kenny Williams sitting in my office what moves can I make? I came up with a few solutions. The White Sox need an upgrade at, where else? 3rd Base! There have been rumblings going around that Kenny acquiring a 3rd basemen… Of course! its Orlando Hudson!
no disrespect to Hudson but I hope you know this is a joke but the Sox really need to acquire a 3rd basemen and I came up with three conclusions #1 Trade the Farm and Matt Thornton, Will Ohman for The David Wright. #2 give up maybe just a couple of middle prospects for Chase Headley. Or option #3 the most likely and my personal favorite: get Kevin Youkilis.
So maybe he has started out slow but its an upgrade from Brent Morel who is batting .177 and is undergoing injuries such as back problems. The Youk will get back on track eventually and is a very dangerous hitter when hot. The Sox lineup already has quite a bit of pop in it but the Youk would just make it complete and add even more to the slugger-pact lineup.
Another move the Sox could make would be to get a starting pitcher like Cole Hamels (probably not going to happen) and send shaky but “Perfect” Philip Humber to the bullpen. Many teams will be very interested in Hamels if of or when he becomes available I could see the Tigers or Indians going after him to really set apart them and the rest of the division.
White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf will have to hork over some serious cash to help this team win not only the AL Central but get a world series birth which is quite a stretch.
