Normally I only write stories about the White Sox but this one we is so big that I just have to put it in my column. The Dodgers and Red Sox have completed a deal were LA receives Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto. Carl Crawford will likely go on the deal for the remainder of the season as he will have tommy-john surgery. The Red Sox would receive cash and multiple players to be named later more information will be posted on this huge waiver wire deal so make sure to check back later.

White Sox GM Kenny Williams was the first to make splash this summer by acquiring Kevin Youkilis from boston for a minor league pitcher and a utility player. Sox fans are hoping that he can do it again as Sox are talking with the NL rival cubs about ace pitcher Ryan Dempster.
Dempster 35, owns a .199 ERA for the Cubs and has been easily their best pitcher and arguably the best pitcher in the National League. The Braves and Dodgers are among other teams in the mix but they have been the most aggressive including the White Sox.
I would see the dodgers getting Garza instead of Dempster because he is under team control for more than just this year as of Dempster who would be half season rental.
The White Sox need starting pitching especially if John Danks is not healthy which he has not been and will likely be out another 3-4 weeks.
Adding Dempster to the mix would make a rotation of when Danks is healthy: Sale, Peavy, Dempster, Danks and Floyd which is extremely solid and would just add more pressure on the Tigers to make a move even when they have committed to not spending anymore money as they already owe 5 players $80 million.
The Sox will head to Boston and Detroit to finish off there road trip then head home for a 3 game homestand with Minnesota.
If Kenny misses out on Dempster he could still go for Grienkie or Liriano which they have inquired on earlier today.
