Humber takes mound as Sox look to make it 7 straight wins.
(29-20) (27-22)
Philip Humber (1-2) will face James Shields (6-2) to extend the winning streak to 7. The Pale Hose has been hot of late, beating the Rays 2-1 in last night’s contest. Sale struck out 15, just one away from tying the franchise record. Humber has been slumping since his perfect game against Seattle of April 21.![philip.humber[1]](http://whitesoxdaily.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/philip-humber1.jpg?w=225&h=300)
Since then, he has an 8.21 ERA and is 0-2. James Shields however gave up just 3 runs in his 7 1/3 innings last time out.
The Rays offense looks to get back on track after just racking up 3 hits yesterday against Chris Sale, Jesse Crain, and Addison Reed to close it out.
There are current trade rumors regarding the White Sox upgrading at 3rd base and maybe an extra arm or 2. I’m all for it. Kenny Williams addressed the issue of attendance and said that more people need to come to the ballpark in order for them to make deals.
Of course there is no such thing as a free lunch and fans know that but the lack of attendance has certainly affected Kenny’s ability to deal for top players.
I expect the attendance to move up now that the team is above .500 but that has to be proven. If Philip Humber is on his game tonight the Sox have a legitimate chance to win. Sox batters can only hope that Shields is having an off night!
